About Kara

Kara Zivin has experience evaluating clinical, functional, and quality-of-life outcomes for individuals with mental health conditions, particularly older adults and veterans.

Zivin, who joined Mathematica in 2015, has held positions as an associate professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Michigan Medical School and as a research scientist for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. She also worked as a senior advisor on behavioral health integration for the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation’s Comprehensive Primary Care initiative.

Zivin’s work has been published widely in peer-reviewed journals, including the American Journal of Psychiatry, American Journal of Public Health, Medical Care, and Archives of Internal Medicine.
