Anne Bloomenthal has more than 40 years of experience designing databases, aligning data, and processing data in support of data collection, sample tracking, analysis of program outcomes, and creation of public and restricted use files, often integrating administrative and survey data in varied formats and from multiple sources for large multisite longitudinal studies. Her work has spanned sectors including early childhood, education, welfare and other benefits, wage and employment, and health.
Bloomenthal, who joined Mathematica in 1977, applies her expertise by providing quality assurance and peer review on data products and by developing company software for processing survey data. Her project work includes leading SAS data processing and preparation of analysis files and restricted use files, creating codebooks, and contributing to other file documentation for five cohorts of the Family and Child Experiences Survey and all rounds of the Early Head Start Research and Evaluation Project. She has developed management information systems for many projects, including systems to collect data and monitor operations for large-scale national studies such as the 21st Century Community Learning Centers and the Early Head Start Enhanced Home Visiting Project Evaluation. She designed and managed data processing systems for handling participant enrollment submissions by community-based organizations or other awardees participating in Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services projects including Round 2 Health Care Innovation Awards and the Community-Based Care Transitions Program to standardize data formats, assess data quality, validate and monitor enrollments, and provide timely feedback on irregularities in data form or content.
Bloomenthal holds a B.A. in mathematics, summa cum laude, from Whitman College.
